Huntington Beach Mayor Cites Relationship Of Fuel Costs To Loss In Revenue
The Mayor of Huntington Beach, California recently said that for every dollar that fuel goes up, it takes a half million dollars out of their cities general fund.  How much does that add up to for a state that has no incentives for alternative fuels to offset the increase in gas costs and the resulting loss of revenue, times every city and town in Arizona?  Alternative fuels and the benefits of the cost savings advantage of natural gas could be helping our Arizona economy more!  Our Legislators have not made the connection yet.  Every dollar saved in fuel would help add to that half a million dollars to
each cities funds!  Which means the states portion would increase also.
Why do you think The Utah Governor and all the Utah citizens are so excited over 64 cent natural gas?
We still wonder what kind of fuel our Arizona Governor is using?

The National Park Service has purchased twenty new low-floor compressed natural gas (CNG) powered transit buses to be used as part of the visitor transportation system on the South Rim at Grand Canyon National Park.
These buses will replace the park's aging diesel and liquid natural gas (LNG) buses. With the addition of these new buses, Grand Canyon's entire visitor transportation system will become wheelchair accessible and will be operated using a 100 percent dedicated fleet of 29 CNG powered buses. The first of the new buses arrived on the South Rim April 25; the remaining 19
buses will arrive by June 13.

We have already had some inquiries about municipalities wanting to offer retail compressed natural gas to the public as well as their own fleets.
It would not surprise me if municipalities who already privately run their own natural gas systems opened them up for public use as an additional
revenue stream to help their shrinking budgets.
