Be The first On Your Street With A Natural Gas lawnmower!

This past year Dixie Chopper has started producing a commercial mower in natural gas to cut down on emissions and geared towards the municipal market. The North American Dixie Chopper company makes history by developing the first mower powered by compressed natural gas (CNG). The product, officially known as Xcaliber Eco-Eagle, was unveiled during the World Conference & Exhibition on Alternative Fuels and Vehicles (AF & V 2009) on April 19-22.>>

According to company information, demos and prototypes have already been constructed and full production of the CNG mower started May 2009 at LACE w:st="on">DixieLACE> 's facilities in Fillmore.>>

Powered by a 990cc Generac engine, the Eco-Eagle has a 66-inch cutting deck, assuring the unparalleled Xcaliber quality of cut. The Eco-Eagle combines the Xcaliber experience with the same characteristics that make the mower series Dixie Chopper's most powerful and rugged in market.>>

In the course of a year, a mower propelled by a gasoline emits 87 pounds of greenhouse gases (CO2) and 54 pounds of other pollutants, according to the Environmental Protection Agency of the United States (EPA). Surprisingly, that is much air pollution produced as 43 new cars being driven 12.000 miles. Also, the EPA says that 54 million Americans who cut their lawns each weekend with gasoline powered machines can contribute up to five percent to air pollution in the nation.

We have some used FuelMakers available, Phill's and FMQ2-36's, One fast fill basket with 20 cylinders, No orders on new units until January!

Phill repairs have not been set back up yet, but we are receiving VRA parts now.

We will have more ordering information on new fueling units as we get closer to January.

The Natural Gas Top 10:

Why It's Today's Best Alternative Vehicular Fuel

  1. It's Domestic: With fuel produced in North America, increasing use of Natural Gas Vehicles (NGVs) reduces our foreign oil consumption, and enhances our nation's energy security.
  2. It's Clean: Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) and Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) are two of the cleanest burning alternative fuels available. Natural gas vehicles emit up to 95% less pollution than gasoline or diesel vehicles.
  3. It's Cheaper Than Gas or Diesel: Natural gas is less expensive than petroleum, which means reduced fuel costs for NGV operators.
  4. It's Cheaper Than Hydrogen: The projected cost of hydrogen currently is in excess of $8.00 per gallon.
  5. It's Safe: Lighter-than-air compressed natural gas is nontoxic and disperses quickly. It has a higher ignition temperature than gasoline and diesel fuel, which reduces the chances of accidental ignition.
  6. It's Here - Now: Natural gas-fueled vehicles are being deployed widely today. For example, 22% of all new transit buses on order nationwide now are natural gas-powered.
  7. It's Increasingly Available: More public stations are in the works and those with natural gas at home can do it in their driveway.
  8. It's The Most Practical: Natural gas is the most efficient feedstock for the production of hydrogen.
  9. It's Possible To Produce Hydrogen-Natural Gas-blended Fuel: A hydrogen/natural gas blend makes good economic and environmental sense.
  10. It's Part Of An Infrastructure That's Convertible To Hydrogen: Natural gas stations can easily be converted to hydrogen delivery due to their common properties.
